Update 6

   1.      Which items had the largest headlines?  Why?
The ones that have the greatest consequence and are most recent. These are biggest because the most people care about that story.
   2.     Which items had the smallest headlines?  Why?
Stories of least importance. They don't mean a lot to many people.

   3.     Which stories had photos?  Why?

   4.     Consider the placement of the articles.  Does the position of a story (above or below the fold) affect the reader’s response to it?  Why?
Yes depending on where the story is determines how important it looks to the reader.

   5.     What other information does the front page include in addition to major news reports?  How does this extra information affect the reader’s attention?                   It also includes features for all the other pages in the paper which helps the reader know what else is in the paper.

 6.     How many stories are on the front page?    115

7.       How many stories are local? 6          National?    8    International? 8

   8.     What do you find appealing about this front page?  What would you like to change?
I                          I enjoy the headlines and photos of the interesting stories on the front page. I would change the way the features for the other stories kind of distract you from the major news stories.

Update 7

The game was lots of fun! It was cool to see how the court system works with cases. I also enjoyed the fact that I was able to win my case. In all the game was a fun way to learn about the court system and how different situations apply to students.

Update #3

Seattle, Washington (Space Needle)

I choose this place because it looked like a very cool building. I would like to travel there sometime and see the Space Needle.

It was intriguing to me because of how tall the Space Needle is. Yes I would love to go see it someday to see the Space Needle in person.

It is a story of human interest because of how tall the Space Needle is.

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS (Old Franklin Zoo Bear Pens)

I choose this place because I love zoos.

It intrigued me because of the fact that they just left these pens out in the wild.

It is human interest because it is like a ghost town experience.

Football update

The football team at Dartmouth University does things a little different when it comes to football practice. The game of football which is meant to be played physical often comes with many injuries in practice as the only way to prepare for the contact is to engage in it. This is where the twist comes in with Dartmouth University. Their coach, Buddy Teevens, got rid of the hitting aspect in practice. Instead of the players tackling each other they now tackle MVP. A robot who can withstand hits from the players and provides a safe way for them to practice proper tackling. This article was really cool and could be very revolutionary in football as the problems with concussions continue to rise.

Headline of Article: Is Donald Trump Nice Enough

Issue Date: August 28th 2015

Section: Politics

Three Reasons why I chose this article (interest in subject, heard about it from a friend, etc.):

1) I enjoy reading about Donald Trump.

 2) I am very interested in who will end up being the next President of the USA.

 3) My parents are intrigued by the Donald Trump situation and they told me about it.

Write a brief summary of the article:

This article talks about different things Donald Trump does and how people perceive these things. Donald Trump is trying to convince people he is a nice person and that he wants what is best for the USA. The polls still show people are thinking of him as mean, hard headed, and a "blowhard."

Write TWO reactions you had about the article:

1)  I was surprised to see that Donald Trump was so defensive about subjects as little as his hair.

2) I was shocked to see some of the things Donald Trump says. He seems to have no fear of what others think of him.

Write a direct quote from the article that you found intriguing/interesting:

"We need tough tone or we're not going to have a country anymore," Trump said.

List one connection I can make between this article and something else I know about (whether from personal experience, school, a book I have read, a movie I have seen, or anything else:

I knew some of the things in the article just from having conversations with my parents and family.
